Texas Rural Septic Tank Requirements:

In order to be able to start the construction of your septic tank you will need an Authorization to Construct an On Site Sewage Facility from your local representative of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. You will have to submit an application, a legal description of the property, a scale drawing of the structures within the property, a soil tests from the property, and a fee. Once you obtain the permit you need to finish the system within a year. Once the system is finished it will need to pass an inspection before the septic system can legally be used.
